UMMM, Fuse? breaker?
Never charge in series, without a your BMS . Then just let it charge. and it will balance.. Additional high amp balancer are cheep. Most BMS only balance in milliamps. It will balance but it could take forever.
hello what are your thoughts on using an Automatic transfer switch versus a double throw switch ?
double throw is more like for servicing system, no ATS needed there
Great video. Thank you.

The one "waterproof" is not a fuse. It is an automatic circuit breaker with ignition protector. It should allow to pass 100Amps within 1 hour. And more amps you give to it the faster it will switch off. For example it may switch off at 150A after 2 minutes. So I would say it does not work quite correctly switching off at once at 100A exactly. But at least it works. While fuses must be distroyed at once when they reach 100-110A. Automatic circuit breakers and destroyable fuses max amps are counted in a different way.
the install guide listed 1awg wires for the 2 hots and neutral, 4awg for ground, it's ok to use 4awg?
I’m doing a near identical install…question…. Did you ground the DPU inverter? Also, did you ground the entire roof array to the SHP2 which is grounded to main panel?
Were these installers Tesla employees?

No ferrules for bare wires?
What does the spray paint do?

sir can this work well? power goes into the inverter then pull the power cable into the mcb on the far right then into the main source a Lvd goes to the 48v relay to trigger the relay Then the AC inverter goes to the relay via hole no Pull the cable from the MCB AC inverter output to the contractor so that the load doesn't pass through the relay then enters it into the ATS source B

Great job on the setup. The only thing I don't like is the bus bars in the inverter. I wouldn't use those. Instead I would use the 2 cables per side of the battery (4 in total) because of the amount of amps that inverter can push/pull when operating at max. By using 1 cable per side of the battery (2 in total), you're placing a tremendous amount of amps on a single cable when the inverter is operating at or next max.
Can I connect 2 pieces of 550watt solar panel (24volt)with a 12 volt 80ampere lead acid battery?
Excellent. Thank you.
my solar company cheaped out and I didn't catch it in the contract. I'm having to wait for the DC expansion PW3. I have just the one PW3 with inverter at the moment. Nothing like waiting for a product that isn't out yet....
I have two Powerwall 3, but with the inverter only connected in one.
Nais yop buen trabajo
@SolarEngineering Stupid question but I thought Tesla Power wall 3 was not stackable?
correct, we cannot install PW3 in front of PW3. PW2 was stackable and we can install few of them in front of each other (search for images: "powerwall 2 stackable"). Because all of the connection in PW3 under the front cover, we cannot cover it with another PW3.
@@SolarEngineering I was using the wrong terminology, I was saying stackable but I guess the correct term is scalable. Thank you for replying
Was hoping you would show more of the breaker wiring instead of the "jack rabbit on a date" video. disappointed
As always awesome videos. can we use one RSD for 4 tesla powerwall batteries? Would love to check your video of 4 powerwall installation.
by RSD you mean emergency stop button? If yes, then I only found a button that can fit max 3 contacts.
I wouldn't have thought that this would work given that the two phases are out of phase with each other. But hey, it worked so well done :) :) :) I will try this on my three phase 230v.
Very nice, thanks for sharing! One thing I would've done differently would've been to leave some space between the battery and the gutter/inverter. Since that battery was hung on a cleat, everything above it will have to be completely undone if for any reason that battery needs to be removed/replaced.
we still need some kind of conduit between the battery and the gutter box to protect the wires. and yes, replace the battery will be challenging
Not sure if you or the customer is aware (also not to be rude). That single battery can't supply enough DC amperage to utilize the full potential of the Sol-ark 15k.? Also in the manner that you wired it, an additional jumper wire tying both DC sides together is needed, per the install manual.?! Hope all is well 🙏.
Customer is aware of the power limitation for the battery. One battery port is rated for 200A and battery can output 200A as well. If another battery will be installed, then we need to utilize 2 ports (install battery busbars or run another set of wires) reference from Sol-Ark manual: 1.3 Connection Requirements -> 1. AC / DC Connection Requirements thank you for the feedback
@@SolarEngineering appreciated 👍. Thank you for sharing and the reply. Gotta love solar!!
Nice! How does that compare to PowerWall 3? Cost? Capabilities?
If I understand this correctly, the longer charging time is due to the lower voltage causing a less aggressive charge current as the battery reaches the final voltage, thus the tail current (typically 2-3%) aka the ‘we can stop charging now’ current must be set at a lower percentage (of the initial CC value) in order to achieve near 100% SOC at the lower final voltage? It looks like finding a sweet spot between 6-10Hrs for 0.2C is warranted but at a voltage that is high enough to trigger the internal BMS of multicell battery such as a 4 cell 12.8V 100Ah LiFePo4 unit. If I’m missing something input would be appreciated!
Just realized that tail current sensing for end of charge can be left as it is. It’s just going to longer to get there. Adjust ‘absorption’ aka CV phase accordingly I would guess.
Why isn't it a weather rated sealed box?
It is, but in places with a lot of humidity in air the water in the air inside the box condensates with temp change. It’s a big enough problem that it’s possible to get devices you install on the enclosure that uses piezoelectric tech to push humidity out. It uses a tiny tiny amount of current but basically dry the air inside to avoid it. It won’t help no matter how much you seal up the box. Simplest and completely fine solution here is drainage holes. :)
Thank you very much 😂😂
Welcome 😊
really gilding the lilly on this install
You mention getting close to 1600 watts with this 2S2P array, but given the Delta Pro 15 amp limitation, it seems you'd only get around 925 watts? I ran the numbers from those specific panels.
@SolarEngineering do you remember the model panels used for the dual poll and emergency grid shutoff ? Also to pass inspection was all the labels placed on the panels? Also what type silicon sealant use?
Single throw AC Disconnect: Siemens GNF324 Double throw: DTGNF224NR ChemLink M1 and yes labels added to pass inspection.
Great video. Was that 1awg to 1/0 cooper or aluminum for 100amp. Thought 3awg copper THHN was enough for 100amp.
was 4 awg and now 1/0, all copper
@@SolarEngineering wow. According to the ampacity charts for 75° or 90°, 3awg is sufficient. Where do you see 1/0 is needed for 100amp?
i wonder why jay box is not waterproof i would use different box looks like it needs rubber gasket
it's condensation water, need drain holes
thanks for the video. not a criticism, just an observation: that's a heck of a lot of money at ground level outside one's home. have there been thefts of these whole home inverters and/or batteries?
This is the second time I have to warn you about your back. Buy or at least lease a hydraulic lift for heavy loads like batteries. You will strain your back muscles or develop disc prolapse if you keep lifting them manually. It is even bad that the lifting technique is not optimal and puts a lot of stress on your back. You are a fine installer and it would be bad if back pain stops you from producing these nice videos. Clean install as usual.
tesla dolly is in transit, thank you for your kind words.
Why not move the vents so the maximum number of panels can be properly installed. For such an exprnsive imstallation, wouldn't it be the right thing to do?
moving 4"+ vents is an expensive process
You have some nice music taste
Nice job ! I'll never understand putting equipment like that outside . I know it's rated for it but it just seems like it would have last longer out of the weather .
sometimes city restricts indoor installation, so there is not much choice for equipment location.
Some locations requires outdoor mounted equipment, however the equipment should still be protected from direct sun light and all other elements, however that is a manufacture recommendation not required to pass inspection, so i hope in the future it will be required to pass inspection to protect the gear from the elements directly.
Doesn’t this Void Sol Ark Warranty? Since they don’t have a relationship with EG4
Solark is Battery Agnostic .
Inverters are battery agnostic if it meets the specifications for load and supply
Confused this with Enphase perhaps?
Вы не учли устаревание панелей
Does not surprise me that the Victron was over engineered, a lot of their stuff is. A fuse is to protect the cable & whatever connects to it from a short circuit which will generally be hundreds of amps surging. The worst type of fuse is the one that blows (in this case) at 100A, none of them should blow until around 120A or more.
Thanks for this video. It confirmed what I already thought. I live in socal and only see a small production benefit after the first rain of winter.

Grear video! Thank you for your work! How much power can this batery pack deliver continously? How many Amps?
Can I ask why you used what looks like AWG 4 or 6 for the grid/load?
